Vince found out that the debit cards have a limit of $500 per day which probably accounts for the trouble Nicole has experienced when trying to pay for speaker’s meals, hotel, etc., on the same day.

-Vince will investigate options to change this.

-Vince will send the agreed IFLA $1000 contribution
PayPal: Michael is investigating this with HQ in terms of policy. It permits direct payment for credit cards on the web.
Michael did not prepare the job description for the editor. Scanning in of past issues will begin next week. Paul Aloisio will handle the scanning, and will also scan NEASIS event photographs. The mailing of notices has been held up, waiting for the development of the web site.
A short term decision about honorariums for the December program will be made in November, while Leslie continues to work on a policy for this.
The December 11 program on Wireless will feature 6-7 speakers and will include lunch. The cost will be $65 for members, $75 for non-members.
Linda McCann of the L.A. Chapter visited recently. She will be attending Program Committee meetings while she is in the Boston area. A virtual program of some kind between the L.A. and New England chapters was discussed (probably done via webcast). Jonah will help with testing the idea.
Nicole has added a “Related Interest” set of links. She has also been working on ways to split responsibility for maintaining the site with Darcy. Jonah and Darcy can probably manage it for the upcoming year. Darcy will add links to the Student Chapter, the ACRL calendar of programs and other useful sites.
Action Item:
-Michael will email Peter Cohn’s information for the Chapter Officer’s page updates.
Jessica could not attend, but sent an email update. The new Student Chapter Chair is Judy Schotland, Vice-Chair is Christina Khachatryan. They had their first planning meeting on Oct. 4, and plan a search engine seminar with representatives from companies like Lycos and Fast, a panel on alternative careers for librarians, and possibly some sort of data warehousing event. Candy nominated the student chapter for the Student Chapter of the Year award.
Leslie was out - no update.

-Michael will contact Leslie about who will send the ballot information.
VIII. ASIS&T Annual Meeting
No word yet on the Student Paper award winner and his attendance at Annual.
Kris and subgroup have been investigating the process to change our boundaries with HQ, and should be reporting back in November.
