Treasury Report
[Vince reporting]

Vince distributed figures from the XML Program. We made $923.44.

Newsletter
[Michael reporting]

The newsletter should be out within a week. Michael is still working on getting new editors. In the future Michael thinks we should take pictures at our programs for the newsletter.

Program Committee
[Michael reporting]

The Program Committee met on February 23. The XML program evaluations have been analyzed and response was very positive. In the future the committee will go back to plastic nametags and get them back at the end of the program so that we can reuse them. They'll also have a box for people to drop off their evaluations.

They are trying to schedule the spring program for the first week of May at MIT. The idea is to have a fairly big name speaker, an award ceremony (student paper and chapter member of the year), followed by a social hour. A speaker has not been chosen yet.

For a summer program they are looking a hands on, members only, web graphics class.

For the fall, the committee is exploring the possibility of a 1 day program on Intelligent Agents. This would take place sometime between September 8-10.

The committee made some decisions on material to add to the web site. These include: Program Committee membership list, a list of past programs, and possibly an interactive survey for members to vote on topics for NEASIS programs. They are also going to put a program planning checklist up. For this type of internal information it would be nice to have a password protected part of the web site for the program committee.

Action: Ginny will contact headquarters to see if we can set up a password protected page for the committee. She will also ask about setting up the interactive polling facility.

The program committee is exploring the possibility of a more complex evaluation form. This would enable us to do more statistical analysis, get more feedback on facilities, etc.

Action: Peter will check the archives to see which programs we have evaluations for.

Finally, the committee is looking at having a program outside of Boston. This may be the summer program. To decide on a location they need a geographic breakdown of the New England membership. Who is getting this for them?

Membership
[Beata was away so we don't have a membership report.]

Spring Awards:

As mentioned above, the Program Committee is looking at having this at MIT.

Action: Michael will also ask David Suiter if there are any facilities at BU that could be used for this.

The program will probably be in May.

Miscellany

David Suiter needs a list of past programs and locations.

Action: Peter will compile a list.
