-Michael will link URL for the Simmon’s student chapter web
-We should have links to other group’s web sites which publish extensive calendars of programs

Added action item:
-Beata will send Nicole links to ACRL ITIG web
The Board reviewed proposed postcard text about conversion of the newsletter to electronic-only form, and discussed whether or not to combine this notification with a mailing of the officer ballots. Thirty three members have email addresses that don’t work or do not have email at all. We decided that an email announcement will be sent to everyone instead of the postcard, excepting these thirty three who will be sent snail mail notice.
Nicole has a place on the web site for the URL for the newsletter open job. New text was suggested by Nicole and Beata for the position description. Michael will update it.
Action item:
-Nicole and Michael will put their information together for the web site
A decision about the ballot process was made, too. Members will be notified by email about the candidates and asked if they have suggestions for alternative candidates. If no suggestions are made, the candidates are elected.
.
The December program will be titled, “A Walk on the Wireless Side.” It will probably be held at MIT, where demos of wireless can be done, and be an all-day event. The group is still deciding if lunch will be provided. The group is still identifying speakers from academic and corporate settings.
The Program Committee has a new member: Laura Reiner, from MIT; Another new member is expected in October.
The Committee is also working on a new idea for a program: a virtual event, possibly held in conjunction with the LA Chapter. Nicole has invited an LA representative to the next meeting to discuss the idea.
Nicole distributed copies of the new web page designs. Darcy Duke will be working on the web site, also.
Action items:
-Jessica will send student officer names to Nicole for the site
-Nicole will change names for comments on site in November when officers change
As an alternative, the group decided that it would be suggested to Darcy, Diann, and Jonah that they divide the web site up by page and put their names as appropriate as the contacts for comments. This way the comments would go directly to the appropriate person.
As for NEASIS&T News, it was decided that we should look for a person who could both collect and write news and do the web editing, and thereby blend the newsletter job into a web news function. A news team could divide up gathering the information. If such a news editor were found we would buy them web editing software.
Action items:
