Jean Camp
, "The Shape of the Network"

About the speaker:

Jean Camp is Assistant Professor of Public Policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Her research interests are based on interdisciplinary studies of policy, law, and computer science, and include information policy issues, Internet commerce and Internet survivability, and the policy implications of technical decisions. She spent one year as a senior member of the technical staff at Sandia National Laboratories, where she focused on system survivability and distributed trust. She also worked on the Lilith: Mother of all Daemons project, which envisioned thousands of computers working transparently in a single meta-computing project. She has published in technical forums (e.g. Usenix and IEEE publications), business forums (e.g. EDI Forum), and policy forums (e.g. Telecommunications Policy  Research Conference), and has published Trust and Risk in Internet Commerce. She received her doctorate in engineering and public policy at Mellon University, where she studied economics, law, quantitative research methods for public policy, computer science, and telecommunications.
